The Alder House
About the home
A timber and glass home among the redwoods, with a writing studio set above a seasonal creek.
Designed in 2016 by a local practice known for quiet, site-led work, the Alder House steps down its hillside in three volumes connected by glazed bridges. Every principal room looks into the canopy.
The main level opens to a cedar deck with an outdoor kitchen. Below, a separate studio with its own entrance works well as an office or guest suite.
